BC Housing is a provincial Crown Corporation that develops, manages and administers a wide range of subsidized housing options for those most in need across the province to address critical gaps across the housing continuum ranging from emergency shelter through to rent assistance in the private market and affordable home ownership.

PURCHASING COORDINATOR
($53,757.49 - $60,889.00)
Position Summary
Reporting to the Supervisor, Purchasing Administration, the Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for retrieving and reviewing assigned Work Orders (WOs), processing Purchase Orders (POs), and related documentation to support operational activities across the commission. He/she/they ensures accuracy, compliance, execution, and timely processing of POs, WOs, and all related processes. The position also reviews and prepares Cancellation Orders (COs) in accordance with approved policies, responds to inquiries and provides effective operational and administrative support within assigned work area to various departments in BC Housing.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The successful candidate will have the following:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma and completion of post-secondary courses in Office, Business Administration, or other relevant discipline.
- Sound clerical experience in high-volume PO administration, and communication with diverse groups including external vendors, suppliers, and internal clients.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the Employer.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Sound knowledge of procurement procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel and familiar with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to resolve issues in a timely manner with a diverse group of people.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand procurement related documents and terminology and update related databases.
- Ability to take initiative, prioritize, multi-task, and process large volume of work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to show tact, diplomacy, confidentiality, and resolve conflicts in a team environment.
