Beach Metro Community News, a division of Ward 9 Community News Inc., is a non-profit, non-partisan news organization that has been serving east Toronto since 1972.
We publish a free bi-weekly newspaper that is delivered to more than 22,000 homes and businesses by an incredible network of community volunteers. We also publish local news every day at BeachMetro.com and connect with thousands of readers through our weekly digital newsletter and social media channels.
We cover what matters close to home: local government, neighbourhood issues, businesses, schools, arts and culture, community organizations, sports, events and, most importantly, the people who make our communities what they are.
We’re also helping build the future of local journalism. Beach Metro gives emerging reporters, editors, designers and digital storytellers opportunities to learn, contribute and grow in a working newsroom alongside experienced media professionals.
