As a Principal Data Analyst at Behaviour, you will play a strategic role in advancing the company’s data maturity by designing and driving advanced analytical solutions that support the production, growth, and long‑term success of the game.
Leveraging your deep technical expertise, you will shape the long‑term data strategy, deliver visionary and actionable insights, and influence major product and business decisions. You will lead by example by mentoring other analysts and setting standards for analytical excellence across projects while tackling the most complex challenges with innovative approaches. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including fellow data analysts and production partners, you will help foster a more data‑oriented culture and enable the studio to achieve ambitious business objectives.
In this role you will :
- Define and drive the vision and strategy for telemetry systems during game production, ensuring they enable advanced player behaviour analysis and foster innovation.
- Anticipate high‑level analytical challenges faced by game development partners and design innovative, scalable solutions that guide strategic decision‑making.
- Prototype advanced analytical outputs and set best practices for dashboards, reports, and data storytelling, influencing how insights are shared and consumed across the company.
- Promote a data‑informed culture at the studio level by spreading player knowledge through impactful storytelling and clear, well‑documented analyses.
- Build and maintain strong, trust‑based relationships with key stakeholders, aligning perspectives and fostering collaboration to support strategic initiatives.
- Work across teams to solve ambiguous, high‑stakes problems, balancing experimentation with rigorous analytics while maintaining velocity, accuracy, and quality.
What we're looking for :
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in data analysis, including proven experience in the gaming industry working on a GaaS (Game as a Service) game, with deep expertise in advanced analytics and statistical modeling or equivalent approaches.
- Excellent database manipulation skills, including complex processing of large datasets using SQL and NoSQL technologies.
- Solid programming experience with Python and/or R for analysis, modeling, and advanced reporting.
- Excellent data visualization skills, including the creation of dashboards or complex reports using Power BI (asset), Tableau, Excel, and other visualization tools.
- Experience with data hosting and transformation tools such as Snowflake and DBT, with AWS considered an asset.
- High level of autonomy, strong organizational skills, and effective communication, with the ability to clearly convey analytical insights; equivalent experience may be considered.
