Role Description The Supervised Instructor Therapist will deliver ABA-based therapy to children with autism in an on-site setting in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. This part time role, with potential to full-time, involves implementing individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Clinical Supervisor, including teaching communication, social, play, and daily living skills. The therapist will collect and record data on client progress, follow behavior support plans, and participate in regular team meetings to review goals and strategies. Day-to-day responsibilities include working directly with children in one-to-one and small group sessions, collaborating with families, and supporting generalization of skills across environments. The role also includes maintaining a safe, structured learning environment, preparing therapy materials, and adhering to ethical and professional standards in behavior therapy.
Qualifications
- Experience working directly with children with autism or other developmental differences in educational, clinical, or community settings.
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and willingness to follow supervised treatment plans and behavior protocols.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with families, supervisors, and other professionals such as Speech and Occupational Therapists.
- Ability to collect accurate data, follow written instructions, and maintain organized records of sessions and client progress.
- Capacity to manage challenging behaviors safely, use positive behavior support strategies, and maintain a calm, patient demeanor.
- Comfort with on-site work in the Greater Toronto Area, including engaging in active, play-based learning with children.
- High school diploma required; college coursework or a diploma/degree in Psychology, Education, Child and Youth Work, Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or related field is an asset.
- Willingness to receive ongoing training, attend supervision, and implement feedback to improve clinical skills.
- Clear background check and ability to comply with all organizational and regulatory policies regarding safety and confidentiality.
