Role Description The Senior Director – Finance and Administration is a full-time, on-site role based in Niagara Falls, ON, responsible for overseeing financial management and administrative operations across BGC Niagara. This role leads budgeting and financial planning processes, manages financial reporting, and ensures accurate and timely preparation of financial statements for internal and external stakeholders. The Senior Director supervises accounting and administration staff, maintains strong internal controls, and supports compliance with regulatory and funder requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring cash flow, analyzing financial performance, preparing forecasts, and providing strategic insights to the executive team and Board. The role also oversees key administrative functions such as risk management, contracts, internal policies, and operational procedures that support effective program delivery and organizational sustainability.
Qualifications
- Strong finance and financial planning skills, with demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial strategy.
- Proficiency in financial reporting and financial statements, including preparation, analysis, and presentation to senior leadership and boards.
- Advanced analytical skills applied to financial data, trends, and metrics to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Experience in managing accounting and administrative functions, including internal controls, compliance, and risk management.
- Post-secondary degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; relevant professional designation (e.g., CPA, CFA) is an asset.
- Previous leadership experience in the non-profit or charitable sector, ideally in youth or community services, is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, leadership, and external partners.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality.
