Operations Supervisor

The Opportunity:
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overall operational and technical support, repairs, maintenance and installations of climate control along with other mechanical & electrical systems within multiple building portfolio. Supervision of operations team within buildings of large size and level of complexity as it relates to building systems and tenant demands.
The primary objective of the Operations Supervisor is to ensure assigned buildings are being managed and maintained in a safe and environmentally responsible manner and to the highest level of operational efficiency.
This is an onsite position located in Edmonton, AB.
What You Will Do:
- Run the day-to-day integrated maintenance program, including daily duties, in-house repairs, preventative maintenance, equipment logs, and supply recommendations.
- Keep shop and mechanical/electrical work areas safe and tidy.
- Monitor mechanical, electrical, ventilation, heating, cooling, life safety, and lighting control systems, and make sure they are programmed correctly and alarms are acted on.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and environmental hazards, and take part in the corporate health and safety program.
- Manage tenant concerns, including HVAC calls and environmental issues, and foster good tenant relations.
- Monitor construction to protect base building systems, and keep the buildings operating at or above design standard without ad-hoc adjustments.
- Recommend system improvements and sustainable equipment replacements, and look for ways to cut energy consumption.
- Supervise operations staff by setting duty lists and schedules, tracking absences and vacation, helping with hiring, and conducting annual reviews.
- Liaise with contractors and inspectors, help with budgets, keep building archives organized, and follow company policies and ESG values.

Who You Are
Key Qualifications
- Experience – At least 5 years directly related experience in all areas of building operations systems including HVAC, Electrical, Controls, Fire Alarm, Life Safety and Building Management System.
- Education - post-secondary supplemented with courses in HVAC, Electrical, Controls and/or Fire Alarm.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Licenses / Certifications: Minimum 5th Class Power Engineer Certification required.

- Decision Making Skills – Able to resolve problems using facts and sound reasoning; able to achieve goals using a strategic approach; proven innovation with a willingness to manage and adapt to change
- Computer Skills – Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Microsoft office, e-mail. Ability to work with Apple mobile communication devices.
- Police Clearance: A criminal verification check is required for employment
