At Bingemans, we create Grand Experiences. As one of Waterloo Region’s largest hospitality and entertainment providers, Bingemans offers a diverse mix of meeting and event spaces, catering services, and year-round as well as seasonal attractions. From corporate conferences and social celebrations to family fun at Big Splash Waterpark, FunworX Indoor Playland, and Bingemans Camping Resort, we deliver memorable experiences for every guest. We are currently hiring a First Cook to join our catering culinary team.

What will you be doing?
As a First Cook, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality food across a wide range of events and service styles. This is an ideal opportunity for a motivated cook who thrives in a high-volume, team-driven environment and is looking to grow their leadership skills.

Prepare, produce, and execute menu items for on-site and off-site catering events
Plan and adapt to varying business levels and event demands
Work across multiple kitchen stations with confidence and efficiency
Lead by example and support the development of junior team members
Maintain organization, cleanliness, and proper mise en place
Manage inventory, receiving, and storage of food products
Follow standardized recipes and food safety protocols to ensure consistency and quality
Minimize waste and contribute to food cost control
Identify opportunities for operational improvements and efficiencies
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional kitchen environment

What we're looking for

Culinary diploma or certificate from a recognized institution
Minimum 1 year of post-graduate experience in a fast-paced kitchen
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
A positive, team-first attitude with leadership potential
Passion for food, creativity, and continuous improvement
Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Red Seal or Journeyman certification (asset, not required)

Physical requirements

Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours)
Comfortable working in hot and cold environments
