BIS Safety Software is a SaaS company on a mission to change how organizations manage safety, learning, and compliance. Since 2006, we've been building innovative software that helps companies simplify training, improve compliance, and keep their people safe. As we continue to grow, we're looking for someone with exceptional attention to detail who can help us maintain the quality and accuracy of the online courses available through our platform.
About the Role
This is a hands-on design role at the centre of our marketing team. You'll design the web pages, landing pages, ads, emails, and lead-driving content that move people from first click to conversion, and you'll bring the same polish to trade show materials, print, and brochures.
Your work unlocks the work of others. Developers build from your designs, marketers launch campaigns with your assets, and the rest of the business looks to you for what good design looks like. That means delivering on timelines and being able to explain the rationale behind every choice you make.
This is a role for a designer who does the work, not one who delegates it. You'll bring strong ideas, explain the thinking behind them, and see them through to a polished finish.
We use AI tools and we're happy for you to use them too, but we need someone with the craft to get the details right themselves.
This is an in-person role based out of our Sherwood Park, AB office.
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Shape our brand standards - help define how we use logo, colour, spacing, iconography, and imagery, and create guidelines the whole team can design against
- Design our website experience - create a responsive web design system and page designs in Figma that are ready for developers to build
- Move fast without cutting corners - thrive on a team where launches overlap and timelines are tight, delivering polished, on-brand work on schedule.
- Carry campaigns across every channel - design web pages, emails, social and paid ads, guides, and downloadables that work together as one campaign
- Build campaign assets and create for print and events - produce trade show materials, brochures, and swag that match the quality of our digital presence
- Keep our assets organized and on-brand - help build a central library of approved design assets, and guide agencies and freelancers so their work meets our standards
- Protect brand consistency - help build and manage a central library of approved assets, and work with outside partners to keep their work on standard
- Use data to design better - look at how pages and ads perform and use those insights to improve flows, layouts, and conversion points
You might be the right fit if you:
- Ask questions before jumping in, making sure you understand the goal and the audience before you start designing
- Can explain the "why" behind your design, grounding your choices in design principles and best practices rather than gut feel
- Move between formats without dropping quality, from a landing page to a trade show banner, with each piece designed for where it lives.
- Welcome feedback and building buy-in, collaborating with teams across the business to bring them along rather than handing down a new look
- Work at a fast pace and taking pride in hitting deadlines, knowing others are counting on your work and enjoy a dynamic work environment.
- Stay current, with a modern, sharp design sensibility and curiosity about new tools, including AI
Qualifications we are looking for:
- 3+ years of design experience across both graphic and web work, with a portfolio that shows real range
- Think in systems, not one-off pieces, and enjoying the challenge of making a brand feel consistent everywhere
- Offer options with a rationale, ready to say "here are three directions, and here's why I'd pick this one."
- Stay curious, asking what a piece needs to accomplish before you start designing it
- Collaborate with care, taking feedback well and partnering with teams who own parts of the brand experience
- Pair modern tools with real craft, comfortable using AI to explore and iterate, and skilled enough in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma to nail the details yourself
- Deliver on time, knowing that great design often unlocks the next step for someone else
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience building brand systems, iconography, or identity design
- Motion design skills for animated graphics and digital ads (After Effects or similar)
- Experience working in an agency or in-house team across a variety of brands or campaigns
- Experience setting up or managing a digital asset library
- Interesting design work outside the usual, like illustration projects, games, or other creative explorations
Compensation and benefits:
- Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
- Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Life insurance and disability insurance
- Health spending account
- Flexible working hours
- On-the-job training and growth opportunities
- Free on-site parking
