Black Diamond Group’s Business Automation department has a full-time position for Data Automation Specialist.

This role is hybrid - in-office with 20% flexibility to work from home.

The Data Automation Specialist supports Black Diamond Group in improving business processes through better use of data, artificial intelligence, and automation.

Reporting to the General Manager – AI & Business Optimization, this role will work with business teams across Black Diamond Group to understand how work is performed, identify data and process issues, improve the quality and usability of business information, and help implement practical AI and automation solutions.

The role is primarily focused on business data, process improvement, and practical application of technology, rather than software development.

Our ideal candidate is looking to contribute in a dynamic and developing team, share knowledge and put their hand up to test solutions for automation projects.

Responsibilities

• Work with business teams across Black Diamond Group to understand processes, information flows, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
• Identify issues with business data, including quality, completeness, consistency, ownership, and accessibility.
• Help improve how business data is captured, organized, maintained, and used.
• Document business processes, data sources, requirements, and opportunities for improvement.
• Analyze business data to identify trends, issues, gaps, and opportunities.
• Assist with reports, dashboards, and information used for operational and management decision-making.
• Identify repetitive, manual, or inefficient processes that may benefit from automation or AI.
• Help design, configure, test, and improve practical AI and automation solutions.
• Support the use of AI assistants and agents to improve business processes and access to information.
• Work with business users to test solutions, gather feedback, and confirm that improvements deliver the intended result.
• Support data governance, data ownership, privacy, security, and information-management practices.
• Maintain clear documentation for business processes, data, and implemented solutions.
• Research emerging AI, data, and automation capabilities and assess where they may provide practical business value to Black Diamond Group.
  
  

Qualifications

• Diploma, degree, certification, or equivalent practical experience in business technology, data analytics, information systems, business analysis, information technology, data science, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience may come from employment, academic projects, internships, co-op placements, personal projects, or demonstrated independent learning.
• Experience working with business processes, data, analytics, automation, or AI is considered an asset.
• Experience working with data visualization and SQL or relational data are considered assets.
• Experience working with MS 365, Power Bi, Power Automate or similar platforms.
• Experience applying generative AI tools, co-pilots or AI agents.
• Experience and knowledge of data governance and information management.
