Position Summary
Reporting to the Operations Management Team, the Warehouse/Shop Operator position within the Manitoba Region is primarily responsible to perform routine inspections, maintenance, inventory, deliveries, shipping, minor repairs, and organizational tasks for a variety of B&M purposes. The Warehouse/Shop Operator will also be responsible for maintaining the safe condition and operation of the shop space and general building.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Clean and organize shop area
- Racking inspection, relocation, setup etc.
- Pickup & deliver materials to customer sites & B&M places of work if/as needed
- Workstation relocation (cubicles, office contents etc.)
- Sign-out tool tracking and follow-up with field staff & Project Managers/Coordinators
- Certified forklift operation
- Organize large equipment storage and space allocation
- Prepare company vehicles for auction – cleaning, organization
- Minor tool repairs (pressure washers, small tool repairs, etc.)
- Receive material/equipment deliveries and contact appropriate personnel
- Monitor various shop conditions (oil storage, cylinders not in proper storage, overhead door issues, etc.)
- Address various shop and office building conditions (i.e. coordinate fire & life safety service providers for minor repair work etc.)
- Charge battery powered man lifts and inspect as required
- Clean and maintain mobile equipment, schedule services etc.
- Scrap metal management – cutting, transportation and recycling etc.
- Maintain, monitor, and update inventory of refrigerant storage

Employment Requirements
- Valid forklift certification
- Driver’s license beyond Class 5 considered an asset
- Experience with mechanical and electrical commercial & industrial suppliers, parts, equipment, and materials considered an asset
- Excellent trouble shooting and interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Bending and lifting required – under 30kgs
- Must be able to work on ladders or scaffolding at various heights
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to follow instructions both written and verbal
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times with fellow employees and customers
- Clear and courteous two-way radio and/or telephone etiquette
- A team player committed to working in a quality environment
- Able to work independently with limited supervision
- Able to obtain site required Security Clearance
