About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Women's Designer specialising in handbags and small leather goods. The ideal candidate will be a trendsetter with a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of market trends, and a strong ability to translate creative concepts into luxury products. The role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute designs that align with the brand's aesthetic and resonate with our target audience.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Conceptualization:
- Develop innovative and trend-forward designs for women's handbags and small leather goods.
- Stay abreast of fashion trends, market demands, and competitor offerings to ensure a fresh and competitive product line.
Research and Inspiration:
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and consumer preferences.
- Source inspiration from various cultural, artistic, and fashion influences to create unique and distinctive designs.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Marketing, and Sales, to ensure designs meet brand objectives and market requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure the feasibility of designs and oversee the product development process.
Prototyping and Sampling:
- Create detailed design specifications, sketches, and technical drawings for prototyping and sampling.
- Evaluate and refine prototypes, ensuring quality, functionality, and adherence to design specifications.
Trend Forecasting:
- Analyse fashion trends and consumer behaviour to anticipate future design directions.
- Provide insights and recommendations on product assortments based on market trends and customer feedback.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Women's Designer with a focus on handbags and small leather goods.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful designs.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and industry trends.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Bonus: Experience in working for Luxury brand(s)
