About the Job
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Coordinator to support customer engagement, program execution, and business growth initiatives across the organization. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop experience in business development, sales, and customer relationship management. Reporting directly to the Senior Business Development Manager, the Business Development Coordinator supports sales and business development activities, maintains customer relationships, and assists with the execution of customer and marketing programs.
The Business Development Coordinator works closely with the Sales, Business Development, Product Development, Marketing, and Operations teams to support cross-functional initiatives and ensure effective communication between internal stakeholders and customers. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Support
- Support the Sales & Business Development team in executing business growth initiatives and customer programs.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and other customer-facing materials.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, buyers, and key decision-makers.
- Support customer onboarding, account maintenance, and follow-up activities.
- Respond to routine inquiries from customers and internal stakeholders or direct them to the appropriate team member.
- Assist with scheduling meetings and coordinating communications between internal teams and external customers.
Customer & Market Engagement
- Develop an understanding of customer needs and communicate opportunities, concerns, and feedback to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with customers through phone, email, text, and other communication channels.
- Conduct regular local store visits to gather insights, support customer relationships, and monitor program execution.
- Report customer feedback, observations, and opportunities to the Sales & Business Development team.
Program Coordination & Reporting
- Assist in the execution and monitoring of sales and customer programs.
- Track program performance and provide recommendations for improvements where appropriate.
- Gather, organize, and maintain information required for reporting, presentations, and business reviews.
- Maintain accurate customer records, documentation, and account information within company systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Operations teams to support customer accounts, promotional programs, and business development initiatives.
- Participate in meetings and contribute ideas that support continuous improvement and business growth initiatives.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Sales, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, sales support, or an administrative role is considered an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Customer-focused with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and willingness to learn.
Additional Information
- Location: On site at Bloomstar’s Head Office in Mississauga, Ontario
- Wage: $51,000 to $56,000. Compensation is determined based on job related factors such as skill set, work experience, education, work location, market conditions and internal equity.
