About The Role
Bluestar Professional Services Inc. is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and proactive Branding and Design Specialist to support our Canadian and U.S. operations. The ideal candidate has a strong creative eye, excellent design judgment, and a solid understanding of both digital and print design.
This is a hands-on design and production role working directly with the Director of Sales & Marketing. Brand direction, business objectives, and priorities will be provided; the specialist will translate that direction into finished materials.
This role will be responsible for the creation and execution of branded visual materials across digital and print, including logos, signage, flyers, brochures, marketing collateral, and other brand assets. The ideal candidate combines strong creative ability with practical design knowledge, sound judgment, and an understanding of how design supports business and marketing objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and produce Website and landing-page graphics, digital advertising assets, email graphics, presentation decks, document templates, brochures, signage, and other print materials.
- Translate business and marketing requirements into effective, audience-appropriate visual solutions.
- Apply and maintain the established identities of Bluestar and its individual firms across Canadian and U.S. operations, preserving each firm’s identity while following group brand direction.
- Prepare production-ready files with proper sizing, resolution, colour, dimensions, and file formats.
- Optimize images and graphics for digital, print, and large-format applications.
- Maintain and organize the company’s design asset library, including logos, templates, source files, and other brand materials.
- Manage multiple design projects and priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Work independently while collaborating with marketing and internal teams to understand requirements, provide design solutions, and complete projects.
- Coordinate with printers, vendors, and external partners as required.
- Take assigned design work from initial concept through revisions and final production, checking dimensions, image quality, typography, supplied copy, and output specifications before delivery.
- Perform other duties as reasonably assigned, consistent with the nature, scope, and level of the position.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of professional experience in graphic design, branding, visual arts or a related field.
- Applications must include a portfolio showing both digital and print work, including layout-intensive materials such as brochures or presentations. Candidates should identify their contribution to each example.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, including creating editable source files and preparing files for digital publication, commercial printing, and signage. Adobe Express experience is an asset.
- Strong understanding of colour, composition, layout, visual hierarchy, and image quality.
- Working knowledge of print and digital production.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Education
- A degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Communication Design, or a related field is preferred.
The successful candidate will:
- Produce professional, consistent, and visually engaging materials across digital and print formats.
- Ensure files are properly prepared for their intended use before they are sent to print or published.
- Keep design assets, source files, logos, templates, and brand materials organized and accessible.
- Make proactive design decisions while understanding the business purpose behind each project.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines without sacrificing attention to detail.
- Support consistent branding across both Canadian and U.S. operations.
- Strong independent design skills, including the ability to create and modify original artwork and layouts. AI tools may support the work, but the candidate must be able to assess and correct the output and provide usable, editable final files.
What We’re Looking For
- Someone creative with a strong eye for design and visual quality.
- Someone who can work from a written brief, discussion, example, or existing asset and make appropriate design decisions without requiring detailed instructions for every layout or revision.
- Someone who can determine what design approach, format, or visual treatment is appropriate for a specific purpose.
- Someone who is proactive and pays close attention to details
- Someone who can effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.
What We Offer
- Flexible hybrid work arrangement with a minimum of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, may be subject to change.
- Supportive and collaborative team environment.
- Opportunity to contribute directly to the company’s visual identity and brand development.
- Opportunity for growth.
Compensation and Benefits
- A competitive compensation package
- Dental care, Extended health care, and Life insurance
- Paid time off
- On-site parking
Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
