Role Description
The Installer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. This position is responsible for installing a variety of signage products, including interior and exterior signs, LED panels, channel letters, banners, and related structures, in accordance with project specifications and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting installation plans, preparing tools and materials, loading and unloading signage, performing accurate measurements, mounting and securing signs, and completing basic electrical connections or lighting setups where required. The Installer will collaborate closely with the fabrication and design teams, troubleshoot installation issues on-site, and maintain clear communication with project managers and clients. The role also involves adhering to all workplace safety regulations, maintaining equipment, and documenting completed work through reports or photos.
Qualifications
- Hands-on installation skills, including use of hand and power tools, accurate measuring, drilling, and mounting of signage and related hardware.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, layout plans, and installation instructions for various signage types.
- Basic electrical and lighting knowledge for signage, such as connecting LED panels and channel letters, following safety procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address alignment, structural, or site-access challenges during installations.
- Physical capability to perform manual labor, including lifting, working at heights, and operating ladders or lifts in varying weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset to ensure clean, precise, and professional installation results.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with design, fabrication, logistics, and project management staff.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to travel to job sites within the Greater Toronto Area and occasionally beyond.
- Commitment to safe work practices and familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations (e.g., WHMIS, working at heights certification is an asset).
- Previous experience in signage installation, construction, carpentry, or a related trade is preferred; vocational or technical training
