Role Description The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Canada, responsible for supporting overall store operations and delivering an engaging customer experience. Day-to-day tasks include assisting in leading and motivating the store team, ensuring visual merchandising standards, and overseeing inventory management and stock organization. The role involves coaching team members, resolving customer concerns, and promoting sales through product knowledge and service excellence. The Assistant Manager also helps with scheduling, opening and closing procedures, and maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming store environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in retail or customer-facing roles with strong customer service and communication skills.
- Background in team leadership or supervisory positions, including coaching, performance support, and delegation.
- Sensitivity to visual merchandising, home decor, and fashion trends, with an eye for presentation and detail.
- Ability to manage priorities, handle multiple tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort with basic store operations such as POS systems, cash handling, and inventory processes.
- Availability for a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful workplace.
- Previous experience in home decor or lifestyle retail is an asset; post-secondary education in business, retail management, or a related field is considered an advantage.
