As a Mobile App Developer, you will build and maintain native mobile on either iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin with Jetpack Compose). This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with deep native mobile expertise and can deliver fast, reliable, and well-crafted user experiences. Part of this work involves modernizing an existing application, so the ability to read and understand legacy code is a real asset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain native mobile applications using Swift (iOS) or Kotlin with Jetpack Compose (Android).
- Integrate third-party APIs and native modules.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, backend developers, and product managers.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Optimize applications for maximum performance and scalability.
- Debug and resolve issues across devices and OS versions.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Stay up to date with emerging mobile technologies and trends.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on native mobile development experience in iOS or Android.
- iOS: Strong proficiency in Swift and iOS development, with experience using Xcode.
- Android: Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android development, with experience using Jetpack Compose and Android Studio.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and mobile architecture patterns.
- Knowledge of mobile UI/UX standards and best practices.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- TypeScript / JavaScript experience is an asset, for reverse engineering the existing application.
- Experience with Redux, MobX, or other state management libraries is an asset.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and mobile testing frameworks is an asset.
- Experience with Firebase or other backend services is an asset.
- Contributions to open-source projects or personal mobile apps are an asset.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
