The Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) Student is a high school apprenticeship position that provides students with hands-on experience in the heavy-duty mechanic trade. Working under the supervision of qualified technicians, this position assists with inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs while developing technical skills and safe work practices.

What You Will Be Responsible For
- Assist Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians with inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment.
- Prepare tools, equipment, and work areas to support safe and efficient shop operations.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks under supervision while developing mechanical knowledge and technical skills.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and apprenticeship program requirements.
- Complete required documentation and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We Look For
- Enrolled in or accepted into a Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) with a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician apprenticeship.
- Interest in pursuing a career as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician.
- Ability to learn mechanical repair and maintenance procedures while following technical instructions.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated reliability, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence is considered an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and work safely in a shop and outdoor environment.
