Summary
The Quantity Surveyor supports cost control, contract administration, and commercial reporting across assigned scopes of work on the Union Station project. Working closely with project teams and commercial leadership, this role supports accurate cost management, procurement, forecasting, and financial performance while ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and project procedures.
The role requires strong collaboration with construction, engineering, project controls, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to effectively manage quantities, costs, changes, and commercial documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage quantities, measurements, and cost tracking for assigned scopes of work.
- Prepare and maintain cost forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis.
- Administer contracts, including change management, variations, and payment certifications.
- Review and validate subcontractor progress claims against contract requirements.
- Support procurement activities, including scope development, bid evaluations, and award recommendations.
- Maintain accurate commercial records, logs, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and support financial and commercial reporting.
- Collaborate with project teams to manage scope, quantities, and cost impacts.
- Identify and communicate commercial risks and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with project procedures and contractual obligations.
- Maintain accurate documentation to support project reporting and audit requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in quantity surveying, cost control, commercial management, or a related construction role.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management, procurement, and change management.
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure, transportation, transit, or complex construction projects is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost tracking/reporting tools.
• Experience with Smartsheet or similar tools is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of commercial governance and reporting requirements.
Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based in Burlington, Ontario, with occasional visits to project sites. Flexible work arrangements, including remote work, may be available in alignment with business needs and the company's remote work policy.
