The British Columbia School Trustees Association (BCSTA) is a non-profit, member-based association that represents all public boards of education in B.C., supporting over 400 school trustees in their critical role as co-governors of the public education system. The BCSTA provides professional development, governance, advocacy, legal and policy support to strengthen and promote high-quality, equitable, public education.
With a legacy spanning over 120 years, BCSTA remains a key partner in the provincial education system, working collaboratively as co-governors with the Ministry of Education and Child Care and other stakeholders, while remaining non-partisan and grounded in local governance, to ensure that student success and well-being remain top priorities.
Our commitment is rooted in what’s best for students, grounded in collaboration with trustees, and driven by the shared belief that strong public education builds strong communities and a stronger future for British Columbia.
