Role Description This full-time, on-site Security Guard role is based in Surrey, BC. The Security Guard is responsible for safeguarding client premises, monitoring access points, and conducting regular patrols to deter theft, vandalism, and other security risks. Daily tasks include observing and reporting incidents, responding to alarms and emergencies, enforcing site rules, and maintaining clear, accurate incident documentation. The role also involves interacting with clients, visitors, and other personnel in a professional manner, providing directions and assistance, and coordinating with supervisors or emergency services when required. Security Guards are expected to follow company policies, adhere to safety protocols, and represent British Security Network with a high standard of professionalism at all times.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and a commitment to high-quality Customer Service.
- Candidates should possess skills in Physical Security, including patrolling, monitoring access, and responding to security incidents.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Personnel Security practices, such as identity verification and access control procedures.
- Candidates should possess experience or training in Private Security operations within commercial, residential, or event settings.
- Valid security guard license for British Columbia (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks as required.
- Clear criminal record check and eligibility to work in Canada.
- Strong observation, reporting, and incident documentation skills.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Basic computer and communication skills; experience with radios or security systems is an asset.
- Previous security experience is an asset but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided.
