Brixton Metals Corporation is a publicly traded (TSXV: BBB) (OCTQX: BBBXF), Canadian mineral exploration company focused on the advancement of its copper-gold-silver exploration projects. Brixton wholly owns four exploration projects in BC, Ontario and Montana.
We are currently seeking a full-time Project Geologist II to join our team at the Langis Silver Project for an expanded drill program. This position is ideal for a Geologist who is confident and experienced in onsite management of field projects, team building, and 3D modelling.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Geologist II include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Integrating and interpreting all geological/geochemical/geophysical data to assist with database management and map/section creation for reports, presentations, news releases, and website;
- Overseeing and training personnel in all aspects of core logging (including mineralization, alteration lithology) procedures, moving core boxes, analyzing and interpreting drill core, collecting photographs and following sampling protocols;
- Participating in drill hole and development planning;
- Collaborating with team members on target generation and ranking exploration priorities;
- Collaborating with team members to assist with data management requirements across various projects;
- Generating computerized maps and 3D models and skilled use of Leapfrog software;
- Preparing/writing internal and external reports, including assessment reports;
- Managing and providing technical support to field exploration staff;
- Conducting surface geological mapping and geochemical sampling;
- Preparing sample submissions to assay laboratories following established QAQC procedures;
- Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, safety, community and environmental protection in keeping with Company goals and objectives; and
- Additional work in and around camp as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- B.Sc. Degree in Geological Sciences or equivalent.
- Structurally controlled precious metals logging experience is preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Professional registration with P.Geo. designation (PGO).
- Proficient in Leapfrog modelling (including design of cross sections and long sections).
- Experience with QGIS and Microsoft software.
- Cooperative with a strong ability to mentor.
- Entitled to work in Canada at the time of application.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Reporting to various field work locations (Cobalt, Ontario & surrounding areas).
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift.
- Ability to work in areas of extreme and difficult weather conditions.
- Personal outdoor work gear is required (i.e. warm clothing, steel-toed boots, rain gear, gloves/mittens, etc.) and is not provided by the Company. PPE (i.e. safety glasses, respirators and high-vis) is provided by the Company.
