Role Description The Maintenance Technician is a full-time, on-site role located in Edmonton, AB. This position is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on building systems, suites, and common areas to ensure safety, comfort, and appearance standards are met. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting and troubleshooting equipment and fixtures, completing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The Maintenance Technician responds to resident service requests, coordinates with property management on work orders and priorities, and maintains accurate records of maintenance activities. The role also involves monitoring building conditions, supporting seasonal upkeep, following all safety policies, and working collaboratively with other maintenance and site staff.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Industrial Maintenance for residential or commercial buildings.
- Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting skills to diagnose issues with building systems and components efficiently.
- Candidates should possess experience in Preventive Maintenance to extend the life of equipment and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Candidates should possess hands-on Maintenance & Repair skills for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general building tasks.
- Relevant technical training, trade certification, or apprenticeship in building maintenance or a related field is an asset.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, safety procedures, and basic technical documentation.
- Strong organization, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfort with using basic maintenance tools and equipment and the ability to lift and carry moderate loads safely.
- Previous experience in property maintenance, facilities, or a similar environment is preferred.
