What You'll Do
Reporting to the Human Services Integration Supervisor, the Integrated Services Assistant is the direct service contact for members of the public as well as new and existing human service clients, providing integrated front line service and support to clients of the Human Services Department in relation to the divisional work of Childrenâs Services, Housing Services, and Income and Support Services. The assistant may liaise with community partners in relation to providing client services. The Integrated Services Assistant also provides administrative assistance and support as it relates to the delivery of programs, services, and initiatives of the department.

Education & Experience
â˘Two-year post-secondary diploma Human or Social Services field
â˘One year of previous experience in a related field
Skills & Abilities
â˘Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
â˘Able to work independently and maintain a supportive and cooperative environment with colleagues
â˘Ability to deal pleasantly and effectively in a diverse environment, in potentially volatile and emotionally charged situations
â˘Ability to maintain positive professional boundaries without imposing personal judgments and expectations on families and clients
â˘Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
â˘Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, with a client-centred approach
â˘Strong sense of ethics and the ability to handle sensitive or private information with tact and discretion
â˘Demonstrated time management skills
â˘Familiarity with techniques for interacting with individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, in person and over the telephone
â˘Sound knowledge of community resources
â˘Clean Criminal Record Reference Check
