Domain Architect

Introduction
The client is seeking a Domain Architect to support a major project in Saskatoon. This role provides specialized IT/OT architectural design and documentation capabilities, including High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), and configuration documentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical execution of architecture artifacts through the Architecture Design and approval process.
This role will work closely with architecture governance groups, the Technology PMO, and internal and external stakeholders to develop secure, well-designed systems aligned with client standards, operational requirements, and strategic business priorities.
Responsibilities
- Apply architecture tools, best practices, and client and industry standards to develop, design, and approve architecture guardrails that support secure, well-designed systems and maximize business value.
- Develop OT and IT solutions, including supporting infrastructure designs aligned with client standards and operational requirements.
- Create and submit design artifacts to the Architecture Panel for technical review and approval.
- Review Architecture Panel feedback, consolidate inputs, apply required design changes, and track remediation items, including technical debt.
- Create and maintain OT, IT, solution, and infrastructure architecture diagrams in line with client standards, using ArchiMate where required.
- Incorporate Operational Technology considerations into designs, including integration with IT and infrastructure components for retained operational facilities.
- Prepare design artifacts for Architecture Panel submission, present designs as required, capture feedback, and drive closure of actions through design iterations.
- Provide architectural leadership to diagnose and resolve performance, availability, and scalability issues across domain technologies.
- Lead architectural engagement for new technology demands, collaborating with the Potash Technology PMO to define scope, assess feasibility, and ensure alignment with business priorities and architecture standards.
- Provide specialist advisory support on client architectural standards, governance frameworks, and emerging technologies.
- Analyze cyber security information and test existing security controls to advise on mitigation and preventative measures for cyber risks and threats.
- Identify, engage, and manage diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Define value drivers and opportunity boundaries to determine whether initiatives are worth further investment.
- Engage the capabilities of the broader organization while striving for 100% safety, 100% customer value, and 0% waste.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, or trade equivalent.
- Experience developing solution architectures.
- Experience guiding and advising projects and solution architects.
- Experience creating infrastructure and network strategies.
- Ability to communicate strategies to senior and business leadership.
- Experience representing infrastructure at review boards and governance forums.
- Experience documenting blueprints, standards, and patterns.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate with and influence teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide quick, accurate responses to stakeholder queries.
Preferred Qualifications
- The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) certification or experience.
- ArchiMate experience.
- Azure Solution Architect certification or experience.
- AWS Solution Architect certification or experience.
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) experience.
- Cisco networking experience.
- VMware experience.
