Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic experienced Accountant, who will be responsible for managing daily accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Additional tasks may include managing budgets, performing financial analysis, providing insights to aid decision-making, and participating in audits. Collaboration with internal teams to optimize financial procedures will also be part of the role.
Contract length: 12 months fixed term
Duties
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Manage bookkeeping activities and maintain precise accounting records
- Develop and monitor budgets, providing detailed financial analysis to support strategic planning
- Conduct risk analysis and implement risk management strategies to protect company assets
- Lead corporate finance initiatives including investment analysis and capital allocation
- Reconcile accounts regularly to ensure consistency across financial statements
- Support business development efforts by analyzing financial data to identify growth opportunities
- Supervise financial reporting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve cost management practices
- Provide leadership and mentorship to finance staff, fostering a high-performance team environment
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bookkeeping practices
- 3 years of expertise in financial services, corporate finance, and investment analysis
- Strong understanding of Accounting principles, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting
- Proficiency with financial software and tools such as QuickBooks, Excel, or other relevant accounting systems
- Solid Analytical and Financial Analysis skills to interpret data and provide actionable insights
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail for effective financial record-keeping and compliance
- Familiarity with tax regulations and audit procedures is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional certification such as CPA or working towards CPA designation is a strong asset
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams
Salary Range
$70,000CAD - $75,000CAD/per year.
