ABOUT US
Caddie Intelligence builds software for analytical testing laboratories and other regulated industries.
WHAT WE'RE BUILDING
Something meaningful, in an industry that quietly touches billions of lives and almost nobody thinks about. The work inside it is slow, manual and consequential, and the decisions being made every day deserve to be faster, more consistent, and easier to stand behind.
THE ROLE: OWNERSHIP END TO END
One product, deployed in more than one place: our cloud on AWS, a customer's own Microsoft Azure environment, and, for the most restricted sites, a machine with no internet access. You own the product from the server to the screen.
- The engine: containerised Python workers (FastAPI, NumPy, SciPy) that make the same decision on every machine
- Instrument files: read the binary files laboratory instruments produce, and write Caddie's decisions back into them so the lab's own software still opens them
- The review application: TypeScript and React, with SVG and Canvas charting over large datasets, Web Workers for heavy parsing, and exports to ZIP, XLSX and PNG
- New test methods: turn a new laboratory test into a working module with the founders, following our written playbook
- Cloud infrastructure: AWS (S3, SQS, ECS Fargate, RDS, KMS) today, with the same containers deployable to Azure (Container Apps or AKS, Blob Storage, Key Vault, Azure Database for PostgreSQL)
- Customer-hosted deployments: packaging and releasing the application so it runs inside a customer's own cloud tenant, behind their firewall, with their data staying in their environment
- Air-gapped deployments: the same containers on a Linux or Windows server with no internet, including signed, versioned offline updates
- The record: immutable storage, hash-chained audit events and ten-year retention, in every environment
- Multi-tenancy and security: PostgreSQL row-level security, IAM, SSO, secrets management
- Delivery: Terraform, GitHub Actions CI/CD that blocks regressions, Playwright end-to-end tests, monitoring and logging
TECH STACK
- Backend: Python, FastAPI, NumPy, SciPy, SQLAlchemy
- Frontend: TypeScript, React, Vite, SVG, Canvas, Web Workers
- Data: PostgreSQL, S3 / Azure Blob Storage
- Containers: Docker, Docker Compose
- Cloud: AWS (S3, SQS, ECS Fargate, RDS, KMS, IAM) and Microsoft Azure (Container Apps / AKS, Blob Storage, Key Vault, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Entra ID)
- Infrastructure and delivery: Terraform, GitHub, GitHub Actions
- Testing: pytest, Playwright
- Systems: Linux, Windows Server
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Strong Python and strong TypeScript / React. You are at home on both sides, not visiting one of them
- SQL and PostgreSQL well beyond basic CRUD
- Hands-on Docker and containerised deployment
- Production experience on AWS, and Microsoft Azure
- Infrastructure as code with Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions
- You have shipped software that runs in someone else's environment, not just your own cloud
- You have built a data-heavy interface that stays fast, not a CRUD app with a chart library dropped in
- You use AI coding tools hard, and you are ruthless about reviewing what they write (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, etc.)
NICE TO HAVE
- Signal processing, chromatography or other scientific data
- Regulated software: audit trails, data integrity, validated systems
- Air-gapped installs, Windows Server administration
WHO YOU ARE
- A critical thinker who pushes back
- Proactive. Nobody is going to hand you a ticket
- Wants ownership of the schema, the screen, the server and the alarm that wakes you up
- Fast without being sloppy
- Someone who has the desire to be great
NOT REQUIRED
- A specific number of years. We care whether you can do the work, not how long you have been doing it
- Any degree or higher education
WORKING HERE
- A direct line to the founders. No waiting a week for a decision
- Fast paced environment, team retreats, and your voice and ideas heard
- You see the whole company, not a slice of it: commercial, technical and strategic
- Access to the network behind us: investors, operators and advisors who have built and sold companies in this space
- You grow as the company grows, and you will be able to point at the parts that are yours
