WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Heavy Duty Mechanic - Journeyperson will be a member of the Maintenance department responsible for daily repairs and preventative maintenance of Calfrac’s well-servicing equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Heavy Duty Mechanic - Journeyperson will focus on diagnosing and repairing equipment in a safe, timely and effective manner.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose and repair equipment in a safe, timely and effective manner
- Assist in mentoring apprentices and new employees
- Ensure that all paperwork is completed both accurately and on time
- Verify repairs and ensure they are completed and documented
- Ensure all maintenance inspections are completed
- Record all equipment deficiencies
- Remote field work may be required
- Must attend all pre job meetings and attend safety meetings when required
- Participate in equipment modifications, campaigns and recalls
- Work safely in accordance with all company safety policies, procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements

SCHEDULE
Local schedule: eight (8) days on, followed by six (6) days off
Shop and field positions
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Journeyman Heavy Duty, Millwright or Automotive Certification required
- 4 – 5 years of related experience
- Valid class 5 drivers licence or equivalent required
- Satisfactory drivers abstract required
- Adequate tool selection for Heavy Duty Mechanic Trade
- Successful completion of the Interprovincial Journeyman Red Seal program is preferred
- Certified to complete CVIP / DOT inspections would be considered an asset
- High School Diploma or Ged preferred
