Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Sonographer role based in Calgary, AB. The Sonographer will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including vascular and general imaging studies, in accordance with established protocols and best practices. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, operating ultrasound equipment, capturing high-quality images, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnoses. The role also involves documenting findings clearly, maintaining patient confidentiality, and adhering to safety and infection control standards. The Sonographer will contribute to a supportive clinical environment, provide patient-centered care, and assist with continuous improvement of imaging practices.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine and Radiology to support accurate diagnostic imaging and clinical decision-making.
- Registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists required.
- Experience and skills in MSK, vascular, general and OB/GYN required.
- Diploma or degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field from an accredited program.
- Current CPR/BLS certification and knowledge of patient safety and infection control practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical setting, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
