Job Summary
PRIMARY FUNCTION
- Support the day to day operations of the Cash Receipts Dept. ensuring that the proper internal controls are in place as well as handling any issues that may arise on a day to day basis.
- Maintain an AR Credit & Collection portfolio in accordance to the company’s policies and procedures.
- Management of credit and rebills, as well as certain Ad-hoc customer invoicing.
- Perform various month-end GL reconciliations and AR related reporting.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for application of customer receipts for respective portfolio.
- Responsible for customer credits, rebills, ad-hoc invoicing and other adjustments, daily.
- On a daily basis investigates and responds to internal and external enquiries related to accounting issues that usually involve discussion, interpretation, counselling and decision making with other divisional staff.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of Canadian Standards Association banking system (CashPro, RBC, BOFA, Cybersource, etc.), and multiple ERP systems (Workday, SAP, Salesforce).
- Support the general accounting and reporting team with analysis and reporting activities
- Assist, where required, in the analysis and reconciliation of A/R and contract asset related accounts. This function involves review and understanding of all the data inputted either through automated systems or manually inputted by others. Journal entries and account analyses are approved by the Manager.
- Assists management and staff with the preparation of month and year end AR reports and charts.
- From time to time assist the Finance Manager and various other departments with adhoc inquiries, projects and activities on an as-needed basis.
Education And Experience
- Post-secondary education, 4 year Accounting course
- 2 year Finance work related experience
- Advanced knowledge of - SAP modules (AR, AP, GL, SD), BIP and working knowledge of Workday and Salesforce
- Strong communication, written and analytical skills
- Able to multitask and meet stringent deadlines
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to the Finance Manager
- Works collaboratively with the Finance Manager, Financial Strategy team and the general accounting and reporting team;
- Provides support, guidance and resolution to Canadian Standards Association staff on various issues pertaining to customer accounts and billing matters
DIMENSIONS
- Responsible for reviewing/updating, standardizing and maintaining AR procedures.
- Measurable factors include Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and the percentage of past-due receivables; timeliness of completion of billing, credits & other related activities
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Requires long periods of close attention to avoid errors
- Open concept/private workstation set up
- Mostly sedentary working conditions utilizing the regular use of office machinery to complete the work required.
- Visual attention / finger dexterity / moderate lifting when necessary
- Regular inside and outside contacts throughout the organization by phone, email and in person.
- Expected to work past normal working hours at month and year end with Finance and IT
As per the collective agreement, the starting bi-weekly pay rate for a Senior A/R Administrator is $2,880.11 CAD gross. CSA Group reserves the right to determine the appropriate level and pay step within the band, and this will depend on factors such as education, licenses, certifications and experience. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
