This is not financial trading. This is hands-on commodity trading: real products, real shipments, real negotiations.
As a Business Development Representative, you are the engine of our growth. Your mission is to open doors: identify and approach new suppliers and buyers, qualify opportunities, and turn first conversations into business relationships. Prices move daily and deals can close in a single day, so speed, curiosity and persistence make all the difference.
Who We’re Looking For
You’re driven, competitive and naturally entrepreneurial. You love picking up the phone, starting conversations with people you don’t know yet, and creating opportunities where others don’t see them. You don’t wait for leads, you generate them.
Whether you come from sales, business development, trading, logistics or a less conventional background, what matters most is your hunger, your ability to take ownership and your results.
What You’ll Do
- Prospect actively (calls, emails, LinkedIn, industry events) to identify new suppliers and buyers across North America
- Qualify opportunities: understand needs, volumes, products, timelines and pricing
- Open new accounts and build lasting relationships with key decision-makers
- Spot market opportunities quickly in an environment where prices change daily
- Take part in negotiations and help close transactions alongside the trading team
- Ensure smooth follow-up with clients and suppliers, from first contact to delivery
- Keep your pipeline and CRM organized and up to date
- Gradually build your own book of business
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in B2B sales or business development (prospecting, cold calling, pipeline building)
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable with high call volumes and short sales cycles
- Resilience: rejection doesn’t slow you down
- Entrepreneurial mindset: you take initiative and act
- Organized and disciplined in your follow-up
- Bilingual (French and English)
- Experience in commodities, distribution, logistics, construction materials or agriculture is an asset
What’s In It For You
- Uncapped commissions: your performance directly drives your earnings
- An entrepreneurial culture where initiative and autonomy are encouraged
- A front-row seat to a real commodity market and the full lifecycle of a deal
- The opportunity to grow and build your own book of business
- A beautiful office with a golf simulator, gym, lounge, locker rooms and showers
Why this role is different
- You don’t just book meetings, you build real business relationships
- You operate in real markets, not theoretical ones
- You learn the trade from experienced traders, on the floor, every day
- Your results are directly tied to your effort
This position requires 100% presence at the office. We believe in-person presence drives collaboration, efficiency and the informal learning that makes our team perform.
