We are seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join the Clubhouse maintenance team. This position reports to the Building Maintenance Superintendent.
Working under the supervision of a senior team member, this role will assist our maintenance team in all aspects of the work required to maintain, repair and improve the buildings and their mechanical equipment, including flooring, ceilings, walls, HVAC systems, plumbing and electrical wiring. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in the building trades, including painting, plumbing and electrical.
They will learn the basic skills of the job, become familiar with the work environment, and strive to become an efficient and independent member of the team, with opportunity for growth for the right candidate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the clubhouse and facilities.
- Complete minor repairs, painting, fixture replacements, and preventative maintenance.
- Inspect facilities and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and deficiencies.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized maintenance areas, tools, and supplies.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Support seasonal and weather-related maintenance needs.
- Follow all club safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills Requirements
- Experience related to carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing
- Valid British Columbia driver’s license
- Ability to perform physical labour
- Ability to lift and carry up to a hundred pounds
Working hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
