We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic Restaurant Host or Hostess motivated by providing exceptional guest service.

What You’ll Do

Greet guests and contribute to a positive experience; welcome & smile
Accurately take Guest reservations and seat guests following section rotation
Assist serving team, when necessary, by taking drink orders and running food
Maintain glassware and cutlery
Clean floors, walls, counters, windows and equipment in restaurant and service areas
Maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment
Follow all procedures outlined in the Team Member Handbook
Be knowledgeable and promote the Capilano Group of Companies
Take reasonable care to protect your own, co-workers and Guest’s health and safety
Be alert to hazards and immediately report any concerns of yours or our guests to your supervisor
Ensure your ability to work without risk to your health and safety or any other person’s safety is not impaired by alcohol, drugs or other causes

Job Qualifications

Serving it Right certificate is considered an asset
Strong communication skills
Must have excellent people skills with a positive & upbeat attitude
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 20lbs, climb a step ladder or climb a step stool
Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business

Compensation for this position is $18.25 per hour.

Responsibilities

The Restaurant Host is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, and seating them while maintaining a positive and clean environment. They also assist the serving team with drink orders, food running, and general maintenance of the dining area.

Requirements

Candidates must possess excellent people skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment. A Serving it Right certificate is considered an asset, and the ability to perform physical tasks like lifting up to 20lbs is required.
