Position: Health & Safety Coordinator
Pay: $23 per hour
Location: Bakery - North York (Jane and Finch )
Schedule: Flexible, usually five days per week, including weekends
Shifts: Must be available for morning, afternoon, and night shifts
Start date: As soon as possible
We are hiring a Health & Safety Coordinator to support workplace safety for one of our Bakery client across all their plants.
This role involves employee training, site inspections, incident investigations, and clear reporting of safety concerns and recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct safety orientations and training for employees.
- Inspect work areas for hazards and compliance with safety procedures.
- Prepare hazard assessments, written inspection reports, and recommendations for corrective action.
- Monitor employees’ and subcontractors’ adherence to the company’s safety program.
- Plan and deliver training on WHMIS, health and safety awareness, personal protective equipment, and other relevant topics.
- Participate in incident investigations and safety activities across departments.
- Document inspections, investigations, and training using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related health and safety field required.
- At least one year of health and safety experience required.
- Strong communication, organization, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule across multiple plants.
- Driver’s licence is required
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset, but not required.
