Overview
The Personal Support Worker (PSW) provides essential personal care and assistance to clients in their homes or community settings, supporting them with activities of daily living (ADLs) and promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life. Working under the direction of a regulated health care professional, the PSW plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, client-centred care in alignment with Carefor’s mission and values.

For our staff to hold themselves accountable to the highest level of accountability to their profession, we encourage our personal support workers register with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA).
Responsibilities
Client-centred support and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care and other care needs assigned. Duties will be carried out under the formal delegation of a registered nursing professional, in accordance with organizational policies, applicable legislation, and within the scope of training and competence. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Personal Care & ADLs: Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, and safe transfers (including use of lifts and mobility aids).
Qualifications
Vehicle & Licensing Requirement (Full‑Time Roles Only)
As a condition of employment, certain Full‑Time positions require employees to have reliable access to a motor vehicle during working hours and to maintain a valid driver’s license. Employees are responsible for ensuring that any vehicle used for work purposes is safe, in good working order, and properly insured in accordance with applicable laws and organizational requirements.
