Role Description The Supervisor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Winnipeg, MB. The Supervisor will oversee daily construction activities, coordinate drywall and interior construction crews, and ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, monitoring progress, resolving on-site issues, and communicating with project managers and clients as needed. The role involves reviewing plans and specifications, inspecting work for compliance with company and industry standards, and maintaining accurate records of labour, materials, and project status. The Supervisor will also support training and mentoring of team members, promote safe work practices, and contribute to continuous improvement of processes and project delivery.
Qualifications
- Experience supervising construction crews on multi-residential, commercial, or large-scale projects, particularly in drywall, framing, insulation, and finishing work.
- Strong skills in coordinating schedules, managing resources, and overseeing day-to-day site operations to meet project timelines and quality expectations.
- Knowledge of construction plans, specifications, building codes, and safety regulations, with the ability to interpret drawings and ensure compliance.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with crews, subcontractors, project managers, and clients, including conflict resolution and team leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to identify issues, troubleshoot problems on site, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Commitment to safe work practices, with experience implementing and monitoring health and safety procedures on job sites.
- Basic computer and mobile technology skills for reporting, documentation, and project communication (e.g., email, spreadsheets, project management tools).
- Previous supervisory or lead hand experience in construction; trade certification or formal construction training is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in and around Winnipeg and, when required, other locations.
