We are looking for an Analyst – assigned as an
Associate Business Manager - to join the CBC Sports team. Reporting to the Senior Unit Production Manager, this position will be to provide support to both the Production Team and the Finance Team. This position will play a key role providing financial reporting and analysis, month end close support, budgets & forecasts, travel planning, scheduling, contracting and paying employees.
Please note that this is a 12 month contract position.
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitor actual costs against budget and track commitments, in conjunction with the Senior Production Manager;
- Assists in authorizing spending of production costs, create files and reports for monthly accruals and expense reconciliation;
- Assists in creating and analyzing expense reports and ensure compliance and recommend efficiencies;
- Assists in developing monthly forecasts and year-end financial projections based on current spending;
- Advises program producers on spending related to program budgets and provides recommendations on cost efficiencies;
- Assists the crew for Sport’s Productions, authorizes travel claims and ensures they comply with policy and program requirements;
- Prepare and research cost efficiency initiatives in conjunction with the Production and Business Manager;
- Creates contracts and prepare payments to freelancers;
- Prepares documentation to hire per occasion employees;
- Advises production staff on interpretation and application of CBC policies relating to Finance, HR, Business Affairs and collective agreements;
- Proposes, implements and maintains business processes with the scope of the above duties.
- Coordinates many activities related to production, including travel, transportation, craft services and catering
Qualifications:
- A university or college degree/diploma is required;
- Professional accounting designation (or currently working towards) such as CPA, CMA or CPA, CGA;
- Two years of related experience;
- Ability to use Financial systems (general ledger, resource planning);
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word);
- Experience with Oracle and LIVELINK would be considered an asset;
- Ability to adapt to constantly changing working environment and handle multiple priorities;
- Ability to work independently and the ability to work flexible hours, as required;
- Availability to work some evenings and weekends;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to deal with a wide variety of people with tact and diplomacy.
- Bilingualism is an asset
