Position Description
We are seeking an experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL development, database performance tuning, and data integration.
The successful candidate will contribute to the design and development of complex database solutions, work with large-volume data sets, optimize database performance, and support integrations between Oracle and modern data platforms such as Snowflake.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL solutions.
- Develop and optimize stored procedures, packages, functions, cursors, triggers, and complex SQL queries.
- Perform SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning, including execution-plan analysis, indexing, and query optimization.
- Develop solutions supporting data maintenance, migration, copy, reconciliation, archival, and purge activities.
- Build and support Oracle-to-Snowflake integrations, including data movement, transformation, and validation processes.
- Troubleshoot database and data-related issues while supporting data integrity, accuracy, and application performance.
- Translate business and data requirements into scalable technical designs and database solutions.
- Develop automated tests and apply Test-Driven Development and engineering best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to development and database standards.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, application developers, data engineers, architects, and QA teams while participating in Agile/Scrum activities.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- 6-9 years of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise with SQL, stored procedures, packages, functions, cursors, transactions, triggers, and exception handling.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and execution-plan analysis.
- Experience developing complex SQL queries and processing large-volume data sets.
- Strong understanding of relational and transactional databases and database design principles.
- Experience with data migration, maintenance, reconciliation, archival, and purge processes.
- Experience integrating Snowflake or another cloud data platform with Oracle.
- Good understanding of dimensional modeling and Star Schema concepts.
- Experience with Test-Driven Development, unit testing, and test automation.
- Hands-on experience across analysis, design, development, testing, debugging, and production support.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000 - $125,000
