Chajinel Healthcare Services is seeking a reliable, organized, and patient-focused Medical Assistant / Clerk to support both clinical and administrative functions within our healthcare facility. This hybrid role is essential in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while delivering high-quality patient care and service. Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support Duties
Prepare patients for examinations by recording vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures.
Perform basic clinical tasks such as administering injections, collecting specimens, and conducting routine lab tests (as permitted by certification and regulations).
Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and clinical equipment.
Ensure proper sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols.
Provide patients with instructions regarding medications, treatments, and follow-up care.
Monitor and restock medical supplies and notify management of shortages.
Administrative / Clerical Duties
Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
Schedule appointments and manage patient calendars efficiently.
Maintain accurate patient records, both electronic and paper-based, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Handle incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and direct messages appropriately.
Verify insurance information and assist with billing processes when needed.
Process patient intake forms, consent documents, and other required paperwork.
Coordinate referrals, lab orders, and follow-up appointments.
Perform general office tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
Certification:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification preferred but not always required depending on experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare or clinical setting preferred.
Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and healthcare software systems.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
