Plumber / Boiler Technician

Nine plumbing seats are open right now. Every one has the pay range up front, and none of them costs you a cent.

I'm Jimmy Ortiz. I run FieldProof, a licensed BC employment agency (licence BA-2026-285034). I find Red Seal plumbers, gas fitters and plumbing apprentices for non-union contractors across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. The contractor pays me. You never pay anything.

Every seat below is with a contractor who has signed an agreement with me. The pay ranges are theirs, not my guess.

SERVICE AND BOILERS

• Boiler and HVAC service tech: $50 to $60 an hour. Gas B is enough, and there's more for someone who can diagnose and fix on their own. Company truck and phone, benefits and RRSP matching after a three-month probation. Sites across the Lower Mainland.

• Service plumber who can fix boilers: $48 to $55 an hour. Company truck and phone, benefits and RRSP matching after a three-month probation.

• Mechanical room plumber, installing boilers, piping, venting and gas: $45 to $50 an hour. Truck, gas card and phone, benefits and RRSP after a three-month probation.

• Service plumber, Lower Mainland: in the $50s an hour, company van, RSP, medical and dental. On call about one week in ten.

• Service plumber, Vancouver Island: the same package, for someone already living in Victoria or Nanaimo.

CUSTOM HOMES

• Foreman: $50 to $60 an hour. Red Seal, with experience leading custom home builds.

• Journeyman, working under a foreman: $45 to $55 an hour.

• Fourth-year apprentice: $35 to $40 an hour.

• Third-year apprentice: $30 to $35 an hour.

WHAT MAKES PEOPLE MOVE

Most plumbers I talk to aren't chasing an extra two dollars an hour. They want steady hours, a shorter drive, and a shop that does what it said it would. Tell me which one matters to you, and I'll tell you straight whether I have it.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Call or text me. Ten minutes: what you do now, what you earn, and what would make you move.

2. Red Seals: I look up your certificate at SkilledTradesBC while we're on the phone. Apprentices: I call two foremen you've worked for.

3. You pick the seats you want. Your name goes to no one until you say yes.

4. You meet the shop and decide for yourself.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Red Seal plumbers, gas fitters (A or B), and third- and fourth-year plumbing apprentices who want direct hire with an open shop, not union dispatch. You need to be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. My licence covers those placements only.
