Purpose of the Job
To transport beneficiaries and staff of the Home-Based Care Program to scheduled appointments and outings, to do deliveries and collections as is directed by the Admin Assistant and Program Coordinator for the program’s operational needs and any other ad-hoc driving duties required.
Role and Responsibilities
- Drive and fetch HBC clients to and from appointments, may be accompanied by other HBC team members.
- Drive HBC team members as per directives of HBC Coordinator for programme operational needs.
- Deliver and collect goods and equipment as directed.
- Putting and taking goods, equipment and assistive devices in and out vehicle.
- Assisting HBC clients in and out of vehicles, to and from appointments and activities at times with the help of the social auxiliary worker, nurse, caregiver and social worker.
- Be sensitive and kind to the beneficiary in a manner that is sensitive to their conditions and level of understanding.
- Report concerns about vehicles and required maintenance to the HBC programme Coordinator and Transport Manager with immediacy.
- To ensure driving within the traffic regulations and not to exceed speed limits.
- Weekly driving schedules and daily updates to be provided by the HBC Programme Coordinator. All exceptions and personal request by social workers, HBC recipients and other HBC team members to be confirmed by the HBC coordinator.
- Putting and taking goods, equipment and assistive devices in and out vehicle.
- Any driving required in the organization may be requested and approved by the Group Social Services Manager
Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Valid C1 Driver’s license and PDP.
- Minimum 5 years’ previous driving experience.
- Defensive Driving certification would be advantageous.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime and/or weekends when required.
- Good command of English, with the ability to read and write effectively.
