Position: Maintenance Technician/Housekeeper - Temporary Part-Time

Position Responsibilities
- Perform routine housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the community.
- Clean resident common areas, washrooms, guest suites, offices, and other facility spaces.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, scrub, dust, polish, spot-wash walls, and clean windows and glass surfaces as required.
- Collect and dispose of garbage, recyclables, and soiled linens.
- Complete in-house laundry services, including sorting, washing, folding, and distributing linens.
- Stock housekeeping supplies and maintain clean, organized storage areas and carts.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and facility walk-throughs to identify maintenance needs.
- Complete minor repairs, painting, drywall repairs, carpentry projects, and suite turnover work.
- Assist with basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, and building maintenance tasks.
- Maintain building grounds, exterior areas, equipment, and common spaces in a safe and attractive condition.
- Receive, prioritize, document, and complete maintenance requests using the organization's work order system.
- Assist with resident move-ins and move-outs, including preparing suites for occupancy.
- Identify and report safety concerns, hazards, repairs, and supply requirements to management.
- Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance and housekeeping activities.
- Work collaboratively with residents, families, contractors, and team members to support daily community operations.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience in housekeeping, cleaning, maintenance, building operations, or a related field.
- Experience working in seniors housing, healthcare, hospitality, or residential settings is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of safe cleaning practices, chemical handling, and infection prevention procedures.
- Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment, hand tools, and basic maintenance equipment.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, drywall repair, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent education required.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable vehicle preferred.

Bona-Fide Occupational Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.

- Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations as required.
- Must be bondable by the corporate insurer.
- A current and clear Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check, is required.
