What you'll be doing
As the Specialist, OTC Settlements (Investigations and Reconciliations) you will work with other members of the Investigations and Reconciliations team to resolve sometimes complex issues and/or disputes with internal and external clients (financial institutions, foreign correspondents, CIBC Branches, other CIBC departments, Canadian banks) in a professional manner. You will engage support from various groups (e.g. Trade Support, Finance, Settlements team) as appropriate while investigating and reconciling accounting entries that remain unreconciled after the automated reconciliation has been completed. You will expedite resolution to issues using independent judgement and analytical thinking to conduct in-depth research using multiple systems/reports to determine the nature of the problem. You will articulate (written and verbally) in clear, concise, polite and professional terms in responding to queries and obtaining information as may be required to complete assigned tasks. You will maintain knowledge of and adhere to security procedures to manage risk relevant to the position; maintain confidentiality and privacy standards at all times. You will identify and recommend changes to existing processes and procedures to improve client satisfaction and ensure internal controls/legal requirements are properly maintained.

How you will succeed
- Investigations and Reconciliations experience - Demonstrate at least two years previous experience in an investigations and reconciliations environment. Able to process information with high levels of accuracy, work effectively as a part of a team in an constructive and collaborative manner, and possess good decision making and problem solving skills.
- Skill Requirements and Experience - Provide working knowledge of internal CIBC and external database systems and applications (e.g. COINS, ADP, IWS, PEGA, IBTSS, COGNOS, Microsoft applications).
- Client Engagement / Relationship Building - Develop and build relations in a professional manner to help you liaise with various lines of business (e.g. Trade Control, Middle & Front Office, Technology) to complete your investigations to satisfactory resolution.
- Compliance - Comply with all CIBC regulatory training and ensure these programs and policies are applied consistently across the business. Be personally responsible for compliance with all such regulatory and governance programs. Adhere to established group procedures and processes. Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained, productivity standards are achieved and Service Level Agreements are met or exceeded.
