HOURLY RATE $39.27 per hour, Pay Grade 7 – Schedule “B” Outside Employees
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
- Grade 12 Diploma or GED
- Successful completion of Investigative Skills Course Level 1 through the Justice Institute of BC, or equivalent
- De-escalation and conflict resolution training
- Occupational First Aid – Level 1
EXPERIENCE
- Two (2) years related endorcement experience
SPECIFIC SKILLS
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Well-developed report writing skills with ability to prepare documented evidence in court.
- Excellent critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated high degree of initiative and sound judgement.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
- High level of tact and diplomacy skills
- Use of devices designed to assist in the apprehension of live animals. Safe and humane handling of animals and ability to apprehend animals which may be aggressive.
- Excellent safety awareness skills and ability to monitor surroundings.
- Must maintain valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license and ability to drive.
- Knowledge of enforcement.
- Ability to maintain records and investigation reports.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Initiative, sound judgement, positive and responsive when dealing with the public,
user groups and staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- A satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Ability to safely ride a bike for the purpose of patrols.
- Ability to wear and perform work in provided safety equipment, including protective
vest.
