Network Administrator – Information Technology
General Statement Of Duties:
Network Administrator shall play a key role in the development of the IT department and provide guidance and assistance to ensure uniformity across the city. Duties shall consist of designing, implementing, and managing computer networks and window-based servers for building based and city-wide functions. The Administrator will work with vendors, consultants and the city IT staff to investigate solutions, improve support standards, and implement best practices. Duties and responsibilities of similar, relate of logical assignment for this position may also be assigned by the Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Qualifications:
A minimum of three (3) years of experience as Network Administrator or equivalent. Four-year degree in the field of computer science and/or equivalent work experience. Project management techniques and tools, strong interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills. Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail and strong customer service orientation. Have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and experience managing networks and related components including DNS, DHCP, wireless technologies, and layer 2 layer 3 switching technology. Ability to travel within the City.
