Senior Designer
Clarisa Llaneza Studio · Toronto, ON (on-site) · Full-time
About the studio
Clarisa Llaneza Studio (CLS) is a Toronto interior design studio creating private residences and retail spaces, from city homes and lakeside builds to brand flagships. Led by Principal & Creative Director Clarisa Llaneza, whose background is in architecture and lighting design, our work is about atmosphere: considered light, honest materials and spaces that tell a story.
The role
We're looking for a Senior Designer to lead projects from first concept to final install. You'll own residential and retail projects through every phase, from design direction and development to construction documents and construction administration, working closely with Clarisa, clients, consultants and trades.
What you'll do
- Lead projects as design lead and day-to-day project manager, from kickoff to handover
- Develop concepts, material and lighting palettes, and client presentations
- Produce and oversee construction drawings, millwork details and specifications
- Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, contractors and trades
- Run site visits, review shop drawings and resolve issues during construction
- Manage schedules, fees and hours, and flag risks early
- Prepare FF+E selections and hand approved items to our procurement team
- Mentor and review the work of intermediate and junior designers
What you bring
- 5+ years of experience in high-end residential or retail interior design, including leading projects
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, InDesign and Photoshop
- Hands-on construction administration experience
- Confidence presenting to clients and articulating design intent
- The ability to manage several projects at once, calmly and with care
- A refined eye for material, light, proportion and detail
- A degree or diploma in interior design or architecture
- Assets: rendering skills (V-Ray, Enscape or similar), Revit, ARIDO registration
Why CLS
CLS is a growing studio, and our projects keep getting more interesting: private homes, lakeside builds and retail flagships for brands with a strong identity. This is a chance to grow with us and help shape where the studio goes next.
We're not looking for someone who simply executes. We want a designer with a point of view: someone who brings ideas to the table, can defend them, and knows when to push a concept further. You'll work directly with Clarisa, and your voice will shape the work and our studio.
How to apply
Apply through this posting with your CV and a portfolio of built work. A portfolio is required; applications without one will not be reviewed. You can also email info@clarisallaneza.com with "Senior Designer" in the subject line.
We thank all applicants; only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
