What you’ll be doing
We’re looking for an Education Team Lead to join our Education and Engagement team at Clean Foundation.
The Education & Engagement Team develops and delivers educational initiatives to support climate awareness, environmental literacy, and community engagement across Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will be part of a team that equips learners of all ages with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to take meaningful action on climate change.
As the senior educator on the team, you will provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, coaching, and support to other educators while helping ensure the quality and consistency of educational programming across the province. Working closely with the Program Manager, you'll help translate priorities into action, coordinate delivery activities, support staff development, and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.
You will also lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of educational programming, with a particular focus on high school and young adult audiences. This includes creating engaging learning experiences, delivering hands-on environmental education workshops, building relationships with schools and partners, and identifying opportunities to strengthen existing programs, resources, and delivery approaches.
This role is ideal for someone who combines a passion for environmental education with strong leadership skills and enjoys balancing team support, program development, and hands-on delivery.
Job requirements
We are looking for someone who has strong facilitation and bilingual communication skills with the ability to lead a team and implement new and positive changes to our programming.
You are a great fit if you have:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., education, environmental science, sustainability, natural sciences, communication or related discipline), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 - 5 years of experience delivering educational programming, facilitation, or youth engagement activities (preferably in high-school or adult education settings).
- Bilingual in French and English considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrated experience providing day-to-day work direction, coaching, feedback, or supervision to staff.
- Experience leading the development and delivery of educational programs or initiatives, particularly with alignment to curriculum frameworks.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences in inclusive and accessible ways.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency in standard office software and virtual engagement tools.
- Knowledge of environmental education, climate change, and sustainability an asset.
- Familiarity with clean economy businesses or career navigation resources a strong asset.
- First Aid certification, or ability to obtain certification.
- Successful completion of backcheck and vulnerable sector check.
- Valid drivers license and the ability to travel to partner and event locations.
Job responsibilities
In this role you will be a hands-on education specialist with supervisory responsibility, supporting effective delivery by translating program priorities into clear day-to day tasks.
You will also:
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to assigned team members.
- Assign and monitor tasks to ensure effective workload management and successful program delivery.
- Support staff professional development while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- Provide educational expertise to support program planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of educational practices.
- Develop, review, and enhance educational programs, resources, learning tools, presentations, and facilitator guides.
- Ensure educational programming is delivered with high quality, scientific accuracy, accessibility, and is aligned with learning objectives.
- Lead and facilitate environmental educational programs and workshops for youth, adults, and community audiences.
- Coordinate and schedule educational initiatives including timelines, resources, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with schools, educators, community partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor program performance, prepare reports, and identify risks and opportunities while providing recommendations to support continuous program improvement.

Job benefits
$68,000-$72,500
This is a term contract ending August 31, 2027 with the possibility of extension.
A successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on various factors such as skills, experience, training, and credentials, as well as other business purposes or needs.
