The Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Developer with at least 5 years of professional experience to join our core engineering team. This isn't a role for someone who wants to coast; this is for a builder who loves the architecture of the web.
You will be diving deep into MVC frameworks to build scalable, robust applications. While we value general expertise, we have a strong preference for candidates who speak fluent Ruby on Rails.

Key Responsibilities
- Architect & Build: Design, develop, and deploy scalable web applications using MVC design patterns.
- Lead with Code: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code (Ruby on Rails preferred) while conducting code reviews for peers.
- Collaborate: Work directly with founders and product managers to translate ambitious visions into technical reality.
- Solve Hard Problems: Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software, often working against tight deadlines.
- Mentor: Share your 5+ years of wisdom with junior developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Technical Core: Deep proficiency in MVC frameworks and object-oriented programming.
- Database Skills: Strong knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and database design.
- Frontend Fluency: Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (React or Vue is a plus).
- Tooling: Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development methodologies.
- Location: Must be located in or willing to relocate to Sudbury, Ontario.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ruby on Rails Expert: Extensive experience specifically with the Rails ecosystem is highly desired.
- Full-Stack Mindset: Ability to jump between backend logic and frontend implementation seamlessly.
