Title: Director– Data Governance (ELT Delegate Engagement Program Lead)
Location: Toronto, ON (3 Days/Week from Office and 2 days Remote)

The expected base salary range for this position is $80/HR - $90/HR, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity. Position Overview
Client is seeking a Program Lead to drive the activation and execution of the ELT Delegate Engagement Program.
This role will lead a high-visibility enterprise initiative focused on strengthening business accountability for data risk, data quality, and data governance across global segments and functions.
The ideal candidate will have strong enterprise program management, data governance, executive stakeholder engagement, and change leadership experience within a complex and regulated organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. ELT Delegate Activation Program
- Lead day-to-day execution of the ELT Delegate Engagement Program.
- Manage activation plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, and outcomes.
- Drive delegate onboarding through sustained adoption of the governance operating model.
- Coordinate activities across multiple business segments and functions.
2. Executive Stakeholder Management
- Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, ELT Delegates, Data Owners, Data Stewards, and governance teams.
- Lead executive onboarding, workshops, working sessions, and briefings.
- Influence stakeholders, remove barriers, and drive timely decision-making.
- Communicate complex governance topics in clear, business-focused language.
3. Data Governance & Program Facilitation
- Facilitate data landscape assessments to identify:
- Critical data
- Data ownership
- Dependencies
- Governance gaps
- Data risks
- Establish and support local Data Governance Forums.
- Drive resolution and escalation of data risks, issues, ownership, and accountability gaps.
- Support implementation of governance decision rights, accountabilities, and escalation paths.
4. Executive Reporting & Communications
- Prepare executive presentations, leadership briefings, status reports, dashboards, and metrics.
- Track program progress and provide recommendations and escalations.
- Translate program activities into measurable business outcomes and risk reduction.
- Provide leadership with clear visibility into progress, risks, and decisions required.
5. Change Leadership & Adoption
- Drive adoption and sustained participation in data governance practices.
- Embed governance activities into business operating rhythms and decision-making forums.
- Improve governance activation processes, tools, templates, and operating practices.
- Ensure governance strategy and policies are translated into practical business processes and controls.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience leading:
- Enterprise Data Governance programs
- Data Management programs
- Data Transformation programs
- Related enterprise transformation initiatives
- Experience working within a complex and/or regulated organization.
- Strong executive communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Proven experience influencing senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Strong experience managing complex, multi-workstream enterprise programs from concept through execution.
- Strong knowledge of Data Governance principles and practices, including:
- Data ownership & stewardship
- Critical data identification
- Data quality
- Metadata & data lineage
- Data issue management
- Data controls
- Data risk
- Experience designing, implementing, or operationalizing enterprise data governance operating models.
- Experience with governance forums, decision rights, accountability models, standards, and escalation processes.
- Ability to translate data governance strategy/policy into practical business processes, controls, and measurable outcomes.
- Strong program management, organization, coordination, and follow-through skills.
