Department Overview
- There are several processing teams. Each team is comprised of 8 experienced members with a wealth of mutual fund industry knowledge.
- Team works collectively to handle work volumes and manage service level commitments.
- Team members willingly share information to assist each other with understanding processes and changes as they arise.
Daily Responsibilities
- Process financial and non-financial transactions with a high level of accuracy for Mutual Funds, Segregated Funds and Pooled Funds (CASH, RRSP, TFSA and RESP accounts).
- Assist other departments/teams in the resolution of Client issues in order to maximize client experience.
- Pre-screen, prepare and input all financial and various non-financial transactions by standard cut-off times. Includes but is not limited to: account set-up; switches, non-complex NIGOs (Not in Good Order).
- Ensure all transactions are processed within Service Level Agreements (SLA).
- Apply all quality control procedures.
Project Description
The Shareholder Services department is responsible for maintaining the records for investors of various Investment Companies that offer investments such as Mutual, Segregated and Pooled Funds. Along with maintaining records, reporting is provided to unit-holders, all in accordance with government policies, tax laws and national policies.
Required Program/Technology/Software Knowledge
- Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, MS Outlook.
- Must be comfortable with Excel – Ability to easily create/edit spreadsheets with formulas as needed.
- Unitrax recordkeeping system an asset.
- FundSERV knowledge an asset.
Must-Have Skills/Experience and Qualifications
- Mutual Funds/Segregated Funds industry experience required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Highly motivated, detailed, and deadline orientated.
- Strong team player, resolute for team's success.
- Committed to ‘First Time Right’ quality initiative.
- Able to quickly learn new concepts and processes.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize with varied functions and workload.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (French is a definite asset).
- Ability to work overtime – during the week and on weekends.
Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience
- Funds industry experience required.
- Knowledge of Unitrax record keeping system preferred.
- French bilingualism is definitely an asset.
- Understanding of registered products desired.
- Experience in an imaging/workflow environment an asset.
The expected base salary range for this position is $22 – $26 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity.
