The Maintenance Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership to the Rutherglen maintenance team and coordinates maintenance work that supports safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The role combines frontline supervision, maintenance planning, work order management, purchasing coordination, equipment reliability, and project support.
The Maintenance Supervisor will ensure CFP's existing eMaint computerized maintenance management system is used effectively to plan, assign, track, and close work orders; maintain preventive maintenance and equipment records; and support purchase order and maintenance cost tracking. This position works closely with operations, contractors, suppliers, and site leadership to prioritize work and continuously improve maintenance performance.
The salary range for this role is 85-90k.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, schedule, coach, and support maintenance employees to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to established standards.
- Plan and coordinate preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities in partnership with operations.
- Prioritize work requests, assign resources, communicate schedules, and follow up on completion and quality of work.
- Promote compliance with company safety requirements, safe work procedures, lockout requirements, and applicable regulatory obligations.
- Monitor equipment condition and maintenance results, identify recurring issues, and support actions that improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Coordinate contractor activities, including work scope, scheduling, site requirements, and completion follow-up.
- Support employee development through clear expectations, coaching, technical guidance, and constructive performance feedback.
- Administer and support the consistent use of CFP's existing eMaint system as the maintenance team's primary work management tool.
- Create, review, prioritize, assign, and close work orders with complete and accurate labour, parts, cost, and completion information.
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, equipment records, task instructions, and maintenance history.
- Use maintenance data and reports to monitor backlog, recurring equipment issues, preventive maintenance completion, labour utilization, and other key maintenance indicators.
- Improve maintenance planning and scheduling practices by ensuring work is appropriately scoped, resourced, documented, and ready for execution.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on work order processes and effective use of eMaint.
- Coordinate the purchase of maintenance parts, materials, tools, services, and equipment in accordance with company processes.
- Prepare, process, and track purchase requisitions and purchase orders, including follow-up with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Work with vendors to confirm specifications, pricing, availability, and delivery requirements.
- Support the effective management of critical spare parts and maintenance inventory, including appropriate stock levels and accurate records.
